About the Event

The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, New York and the Hong Kong Association of New York invite you to a conversation with Hong Kong Financial Secretary, Mr Paul Chan, on the future of Hong Kong as an international business and financial center. Mr Chan will talk about Hong Kong's response to the pandemic outbreak, the US-China trade tension and the recent enactment of the national security law in the city. We will also discuss the opportunities ahead for the business and financial sectors and why Hong Kong remains a unique gateway to the Asian markets. Chairman of the Hong Kong Association of New York, Mr Donald Moore, will be the moderator.     RSVP to rsvp@hketony.gov.hk by Monday, July 20, 2020.

Speaker:   Mr Paul Chan, Financial Secretary, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government           

Mr Chan is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a former President of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Before joining the Government, Mr Chan held a number of public service positions including member of the Legislative Council and Chairman of Legal Aid Services Council. Mr Chan served as Secretary for Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government from July 2012 to January 2017. He was appointed Financial Secretary on January 16, 2017.
